Covid-Infotmation

These Corona rules apply from April 3rd 2022.
From April 3rd the 3G proof, mask requirement and distance rules will no longer apply when visiting the Gasometer Oberhausen. Nevertheless, we expressly recommend wearing mouth/nose protection. Stay healthy!

These Corona rules apply from 20.th of March 2022

Please take note of the Corona Protection Ordinance, which comes into force on March 20th. Accordingly, the 3G rule applies when visiting the current Gasometer exhibition. Only vaccinated, recovered and tested persons will be admitted. The presentation of a negative antigen test (max. 24 hours old) or PCR test (max. 48 hours old) counts as proof.
The convalescent status is valid from the 28th day until the 180th day from the date of the positive PCR test, i.e. until six months after infection. Proof of this must be carried and will be checked at the entrance together with the identity card.
The vaccination status can be proven with a valid vaccination card or the entry in corresponding Corona apps.
Pupils up to and including 17 years of age are exempt from the 3G rule and do not need any proof.
Due to the current development in corona case numbers, access to the Gasometer is currently limited. Under certain circumstances, this may lead to longer waiting times for admission, especially on the heavily publicised weekends. Please also wear mouth/nose protection while waiting outside the Gasometer.

What visitors can expect
The first exhibition after the extensive renovation of the Gasometer will show the beauty of nature and the influence of humans on their environment from spring 2021. "The Fragile Paradise" takes visitors on a visually stunning journey through water, forest and desert worlds. Impressive, award-winning photographs and videos show animals and plants in their changing habitats, but also human intervention in the fragile ecosystem of the earth. Thanks to the latest 3D technology, exhibition visitors can virtually explore the world's largest rainforest reserve and slip into the role of various inhabitants of this primeval forest. The highlight of the exhibition is a monumental sculpture of the earth in the 100-metre-high airspace of the Gasometer, onto which high-resolution, up-to-date satellite images are projected.
